Habitat and Birds
This mountain lake is next to the highway and offers a good break from the long drive between Central Oregon and the Rogue Valley. The birds here are much the same as the other lakes. In the fall, water levels drop and shorebird flats are created. This is an under-birded location and could be very productive as a shorebird hotspot. A Chestnut-collared Longspur was found here in 2001 and Lapland Longspur has been known to frequent this area.
