Location
Tygh Valley is at the junction of Hwy 197 and Hwy 216 about 28 miles south of The Dalles and nine miles north of Maupin. Bird the town and the road out of Tygh Valley toward Wamic (Wamic Valley Road). Another good option is the Wasco County Fairgrounds on Fairgrounds Road 2.3 miles west of town.

A list of birds from this area includes Redhead, Wild Turkey, Bald Eagle, Northern Harrier, Swainson’s Hawk, Ferruginous Hawk, Peregrine Falcon, Bonaparte’s Gull, Gray Flycatcher, Cassin’s Vireo, and Black-headed Grosbeak.
