Location

Gable Creek Road is 3 miles west of Mitchell off of Highway 26. The creek runs along the gravel road for about half a mile with good riparian habitat. There is enough room to pull off the road along the creek. Juniper yields to farmland and finally timber.

Habitat and Birds

Listen for Mountain Quail along the road. Wilson’s Snipe, Lewis’s Woodpecker have been seen here. Mountain Bluebirds are seen in the ranching areas.
