Location
Travel south out of Ontario toward Vale. Take Hwy 20/26 toward Vale. From the Junction of 201 and 20/26, go four miles west to Butte Road. Turn right on Butte Rd. and go two miles to the north side of the butte. There are access roads here that will get you to the base of the butte.

This is a dry sagebrush area and sagebrush species can be found here. Look and listen for Sage Thrasher, Brewer’s Sparrow, and Sagebrush Sparrow. This is an excellent spot to see Prairie Falcon and they have nested here in the past.
