Location

Traveling east on Hwy 26 leaving Warm Springs and going toward Madras, cross the Deschutes R. bridge and look for the boat ramp on your right. There are other pullouts in the area that are not so famous but they are worth checking out.

Habitat and Birds

Pound-for-pound, this might be the best birding site in the county. Over 100 species have been recorded in this tiny parking lot surrounded by blackberries and alders. Any local passerine might be present and lots of waterfowl are constantly floating by on the river. Rarities include Gray Catbird, Eastern Kingbird, Yellow-breasted Chat, Black-capped Chickadee, Chukar, and Hermit Warbler.
