Habitat and Birds

Excellent Sea Watch location.  Local beach and rocky areas.  Scoters, grebes, loons, and Harlequin Ducks abound.  Black Turnstones and Black Oystercatchers are in the rocky areas. Watch for Black-legged Kittiwake in the late fall.  This is a good place for Heermann’s Gull in the back half of the year.  Black Phoebe, Wrentit, and Pacific Wrens are plentiful.  Yellow-rumped Warblers are winter regulars replaced by Yellow and Wilson’s Warblers in summer.
