Habitat and Birds

These parks are located on the Willamette River and the associated forested area can be very productive. Migrating passerines use the Willamette as a highway north and south. Wintering species like Varied Thrush and sparrows can be found here as well. Easy access to the Willamette River can result in sightings of Osprey, Bald Eagle, Doublecrested Cormorant, and a variety of waterfowl. Go to the Oregon Birding Trails Website. Choose the Willamette Valley Birding Trail. Click on the Trail Guide and choose the Santiam Loop Guide. Section S-1.
