Turn east on I-84. Take Arlington exit (exit 137). Drive (or walk) through the town and look for hummingbird and other feeders. Be sure to check the cemetery on the southwest side of town as this is the best place to find Western Scrub-Jay in the county. The Port of Arlington has good viewing of the Columbia River. There is a public restroom located at Earl Snell Memorial Park.

City and port. While in Arlington be sure to bird Earl Snell Memorial Park. Birds of note from here include Lewis’s Woodpecker, Bohemian Waxwing, Red-Breasted Sapsucker, Common Redpoll and Black-Necked Stilts on the park’s small beach. Go north through the park to the granary on the Columbia River. In winter expect grebes, both scaup and both goldeneyes. Tufted Duck and Long-Tailed Duck have been seen here. Large gull flocks can congregate here, so it’s worth sifting through them. Sabine’s and Bonaparte’s were found in late fall. In summer, cruise the streets (there aren’t many) and cemetery looking for hummingbird feeders and ornamental plants as Anna’s Hummingbirds have been found. Other notables from town are White-Throated and Chipping Sparrow. Can be good in migration for passerines.
