Habitat and Birds

Clark Park is a small city park located next to the Molalla Rodeo Arena. It consists of a remaining stand of oak, with a open field to the north. The park is known is the most reliable location in the county to find nesting Acorn Woodpeckers, observable all seasons of the year. In spring and summer, look for nesting Bullock’s Orioles, Western Wood-Pewees and warblers in the trees, and listening and watch for Lazuli Bunting, especially in the field to the north. Black-capped Chickadees, and White-breasted Nuthatches, Scrub-jays, American and Lesser (uncommon) Goldfinches are among the species that may be found all year.
