Location
From Burns Junction (Hwys 95 & 78), travel 25 miles NW to Crowley- Riverside Road. Take this road 14 miles to Dowell Reservoir. This is a very remote location. Be sure you are well supplied and you have a good map.

Marshy wet areas are interspersed with flooded farm fields to produce habitat for probers like White-faced Ibis and Long-billed Curlew. Willet and Sandhill Cranes nest in the area. Virginia Rails, Sora, Wilson’s Snipe, and Wilson’s Phalarope are in the wetter regions along with Yellow-headed Blackbirds.
