Location

From Warm Springs, turn north on Agency Hot Springs Road (follow the signs to Kah-nee-tah). Drive 3.1 miles to Dry Creek Road. Take Dry Cr. Rd. east to the end and you will find the campground. The road in covers some varied habitats and is just as interesting as the campground itself.

Habitat and Birds

This access to the Deschutes River is under-birded and may be one of the better sites in the county. Yellow-breasted Chat, Black-crowned Night- heron, Eastern Kingbird, and Lewis’s Woodpeckers are all hard to find in that part of the county but easy in this campground. Bullock’s Orioles are abundant as are pewees, blackbirds, Lazuli Bunting, and Yellow Warblers. Rarities almost certainly visit here.
