Location

From the junction of Hwys 26 and 35 near Mt. Hood, go south on Hwy 26 about five miles to Frog Lake. This is about 40 miles north of Warm Springs. The lake is not visible from Hwy 26. Just 0.5 miles north of the lake is a pullout area with a big parking lot. Take the Forest Road 2610 south from the parking lot to the lake. Bird this whole area for mountain species.

Habitat and Birds

Typical Cascade Mountain species are found here. Red Crossbill, Western Tanager, Cassin’s Vireo, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, Red-breasted and White-breasted Nuthatches, Hermit Warbler, and Olive-sided Flycatcher should be present.
