Location
From Highway 101 north of Lincoln City, turn west onto Three Rocks Road, continue 2.4 miles to the parking lot on the left.
The Oregon.com Cascade Head website has information about the trails in the area, including the South Trailhead that is in the park.
Knight Park Website has information about the park itself, which includes a vault restroom, a boat ramp, parking for cars and for boat trailers.
Go to the Oregon Coast Birding Trail Website Choose the Oregon Coast Birding Trail. Click on the Central Coast tab and go to section 43.

The park is on the mouth of the Salmon River and includes hiking trails into the Cascade Head, providing a varied habitat.
Year round you can find Spotted Sandpiper, Great Blue Heron, Bald Eagle, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, Belted Kingfisher, Gold-crowned Kinglet, Pacific Wrens and Marsh Wrens. Red-crossbills are sometimes observed February-November.
In Summer look for Band-tailed Pigeons, Rufous Hummingbirds, Greater Yellowlegs, Warbling Vireo, Swallows, Swainson’s Thrush, Common Yellowthroat, Orange-crowned, Black-throated Gray, and Wilson’s Warblers, maybe a Hermit Warbler, Western Tanager and Black-headed Grosbeak.
Fall through Spring you may find Buffleheads, Common Goldeneye, Hooded Merganser, Common Merganser and Red-breasted Merganser, Great Egret and Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
