DirectionsHabitat and Birds
This site is one of several in the West Eugene wetlands, with Coyote Creek running through the middle of it. In the late fall, winter, and early spring it has mostly flooded marshy habitat, but dries out in the summer. It can be good during migration for shorebirds, depending on water levels. In the winter it has large numbers of waterfowl and some years Short-eared Owls at dusk. It is named appropriately–Western Meadowlarks can often be heard singing.
