Location

To access to the mountain take Exit 6 from Interstate 5 and following the road parallel to Interstate 5 for approximately 1 mile, following the Mount Ashland Signs. When you see the sign that says Mount Ashland Ski Area follow that road for 8.7 miles to the ski area parking lot. The road beyond the Ski Area is closed during the winter, but access is available during the summer months.

Habitat and Birds

Birds here include Sooty Grouse, Mt. Quail, Bandtailed Pigeon, Vaux’s Swift, White-headed Woodpecker, Dusky Flycatcher, Hammond’s Flycatcher, Gray Jay, Clark’s Nutcracker, Brown Creeper, Townsend’s Solitaire, Hermit Warbler, Brewer’s Sparrow, Cassin’s Finch, and Lazuli Bunting.
