Habitat and Birds
Most of this area is an extensive grassland. It harbors many Long-billed Curlew in season. Toward the east end, just before the road drops back down into the valley, Grasshopper Sparrow has been sighted. Sage Thrasher has also been seen on this route. The little bluff overlooking the valley from the north side of the road at the east end has good sparrow potential. Check in winter for raptors.
