Location

7 miles west of Alsea on SR 34 turn south on Salmonberry Rd. Salmonerry County Park is about a half mile south of the highway. The park is on the Alsea River, with a boat ramp, nature trail, picnic area and restroom open year-round. The campground is open from May 15 until Oct 15.

Habitat and Birds

Mixed woodlands with open areas and brushy edges and riparian habitat. Wood Duck and Common and Hooded Merganser can be found on the river. Also look for Bald Eagle, White-tailed Kite, Osprey, Belted Kingfisher, Varied Thrush and MacGillivray’s, Yellow and Wilson’s Warbler.
