Birders’ Night: Jeff Fleischer on the Winter Raptor Surveys.

Jeff will be talking about how the project started, how it was designed, and how and where routes have been created over the 22 years of the project.  He will also share statistics regarding the data that has been collected and a selection of excellent photos of the various species that have been recorded so far. Jeff is working on getting all 22 years of project data into our database, currently working on Oregon data through a grant approved by ECBA and that work is coming close to completion.  Jeff’s ultimate goal is to get all of the data from the various other states in the project into the database, but will need some additional funding to complete that effort.  Once all the data is in the database, Jeff will be able to utilize it to build a story of what has been going on in raptor populations throughout the project area surveyed by the hundreds of volunteers that have supported this project.

The program will start at 6pm. Feel free to come early for dinner and a beverage. There is typically a nice group there by 5:00pm or so.
