This count circle has extensive private land holdings with limited access. Consequently, it’s not the kind of count that requires a huge number of volunteers. However, I generally scramble to find a group of hikers that is willing to hike/snowshoe through a closed forest section near Brennan Palisades. Kim Kathol has been a perennial hiker, but he could use help covering this area. If you are up for a winter hike, please let me know. This section has historically had some of the rarest and most uncommon species of the entire count circle — think Dusky Grouse, Canada Jay, Black-backed Woodpecker, Mountain Quail, etc. The rest of the circle offers a mix of driving and short walks.
