Go to the Oregon Birding Trails Website. Choose the Oregon Coast Birding Trail. Click on the South Coast tab and go to section 104. From HWY 101, about 2 miles north of North Bend, turn west on to Trans-pacific Highway. After 1 mile, veer Right onto Horsefall Rd for 1.5 mi. The trailhead will be on the left.

This 1.2 mi walking trail includes lake, shorepine forest, deflation plains and sand dunes. A wide variety of freshwater ducks can be seen on the lake. Habitat around the lake attracts White-tailed Kite, Northern Harrier, Violet-green Swallow, Downy Woodpecker, Great Horned Owl, Great Egret and Hermit, Townsend’s, Black-throated Gray, Yellow, and Orange-crowned Warbler. You can see Fox, Song and White-crowned sparrows in the deflation plains.
