Habitat and Birds

At the edge of the Deschutes National Forest, this little town offers habitats that are in transition from the juniper forest to the east and the ponderosa pine forest of the lower Cascades. Best birds here include Clark’s Nutcracker, Pinyon Jay, White-headed Woodpecker, Pygmy Nuthatch, Western Bluebird and Red Crossbill. See the above locations for good spots to find all of these birds.
