Habitat and Birds

As Van Gilder winds through extensive wheat fields, there are several places that have too much grade to farm. These are left to grow wild and can include some good birds. Look for Great Horned Owl in the trees around the farm houses. Sparrows and migrants can be found along the road. Raptors often feed here and Short-eared Owl is possible in the crepuscular hours.
