Habitat and Birds
This park gives a good sampling of Coast Range foothills habitat. Mixed forest next to plenty of open country and adjacent farmland. Watch and listen for Band-tailed Pigeon, Pacific-slope Flycatcher, Hutton’s Vireo, both chickadees, and a myriad of nuthatches, creeper, kinglets, and wrens. Evening Grosbeaks, Western Tanager, and Black-headed Grosbeak nest here as do several species of warbler (Black-throated Gray, Hermit, Townsends, Orange-crowned, MacGillivrays and more).
