Location
From I-84 west of Hermiston, go north on I-82 for about 10 miles. Before you get to the Columbia River and cross into Washington, turn right on Hwy 730 and travel east. Go 12 miles to Hat Rock Road, which intersects from the left (north). This road takes you to the park (look for the brown sign). Back on Hwy 730, continue east to access Warehouse Beach. About 1.1 mile east of Hat Rock Road, turn right onto Hwy 37 and in 0.25 mile turn left on Landing Road. Go north and under the overpass to Warehouse Beach (45.919656, -119.142360). Check this area for river access and plenty of waterfowl.

Birds that have been seen here before include Blue-winged Teal, Redhead, Hooded Merganser, many other duck species, grebes (Eared, Red-necked, Horned, Western, Clark’s, & Pied-billed), White Pelican, Black-crowned Night- Heron, Virginia Rail, Osprey, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Common Loon, Glaucous- winged Gull, Caspian, Common & Forster’s Tern, Common Nighthawk, Belted Kingfisher, Downy Woodpecker, Cassin’s Vireo (migrant), Eastern Kingbird, migrant flycatchers & warblers, Black-capped Chickadee, and Western Meadowlark. In spring, look for Lark Sparrows that breed in the sagebrush along the road into Warehouse Beach. Rarities that have shown up here include Eurasian Wigeon, all 3 scoters (fall), Whimbel and Ruddy Turnstone (mid-May), Red-eyed Vireo and Least Flycatcher.
