Location

From the north edge of Corvallis, take Hwy 99W north for 1.7 miles and turn left on Lewisburg Ave.  Go west 1.4 miles and turn right on Sulphur Springs Rd.  Drive 1. miles and the parking area is on your right.  Multiple trails spring up from this parking lot.

Habitat and Birds

Several forest trails spring from the parking area.  Mixed forest.  Anna’s Hummingbirds are present year-round while Red-breasted Sapsuckers are most abundant in summer.  Other woodpeckers include Acorn, Downy, Hairy, Pileated, and Northern Flicker.  Pacific-slope is the dominant flycatcher but Hammonds, Willow, and Western Wood-pewee can be found in summer.  Hutton’s Vireo, Steller’s Jay, both chickadees, Violet-green Swallow, Pacific and Bewick’s Wren, Swainson’s Thrush (summer), and Varied Thrush (winter) are but a few examples of the 104 species observed here.
