Location

About a mile north of Manzanita on Hwy 101 (between milepost 41 and 42), take the Neahkahnie Mountain Trailhead Road east for 0.7 miles to the south trailhead.  To access the north trailhead, continue on Hwy 101 for another mile and you will see a parking area on the west side of the road.  Park here and you will have to walk on a narrow trail right next to Hwy 101 south for a few hundred yards to reach the trail.  This is pretty dangerous so this guide does not recommend taking this trail.  There is no road access to Neahkahnie Mt but the view makes the hike worthwhile.

Check out this 3-D map of the south trail.  Open the following link and click on the button on the left that says “Preview Trail”    3-D view of the south trail.
