Perpetua Bank/Pelagic Site – 35 Miles Offshore, – Boat Trip
Seasons
Checklists
Location
This is a common destination for pelagic birding trips. It’s a shelf about 35 miles off of Waldport. Oregon Pelagic tours offers a variety of pelagic birding tours besides this Perpetua Tour. Most trips go out of Newport but occasionally, trips leave from Depoe Bay or Garibaldi. In the spring, fall and sometimes winter, regular trips are scheduled to see sea birds. Shorter trips are available if the 12 trip to Perpetua turns your stomach. These trips are organized by sea bird expert Tim Shelmerdine and a crack team of assistant guides that often include Oregon’s top birders. To schedule a trip, Go to Tim’s website Oregon Pelagic Tours
