Location

The artificial ponds, tucked into woods and meadows just west of I-5 south of Woodburn, were created for fishermen, but they attract a wide variety of waterfowl and other birds. To reach the ponds from the north, take I-5 exit 271 (Woodburn) and go west on SR 219 2.1 mi to Arbor Grove Rd, turn left (S) and proceed 3.3 mi to St Louis Rd. Turn left (E) and go 1.7 mi, and turn right (S) on Tesch Ln for 1.7 mi, which takes you to the ponds. From the south, take I-5 to the Brooks exit (263), go west 0.8 mi on Brooklake Rd, then right (N) 4.7 mi on River Rd and straight 0.6 mi on French Prairie Rd to St Louis Rd. Go right (E) and turn right (S) on Tesch Ln for 1.7 mi, which takes you to the ponds.

Fishing platforms, docks and wide pullouts along long paved pathways make the park very accessible. A significant part of the park is ADA accessible, but there also are more primitive paths into the farther ponds for those who are able to get away from the more developed sections.
