The Oregon Garden is an 80-acre botanical garden and tourist attraction in Silverton. Opened in 1999, it is home to over 20 gardens including the Rose Garden, Children’s Garden and Silverton Market Garden. It is open 365 days a year and hosts both public and private events.
To reach the Garden from Salem, follow SR 213 (Silverton Rd) east to Silverton, and turn right on S Main St. The Garden is on your left at the edge of town. From Stayton, follow Cascade Hwy north for about 12 miles to the Garden.

While most of the site consists of manicured gardens, there are also significant areas of oak and conifer woodlands, grassy and brushy areas, and marshy areas with a series of small ponds. More than 125 species of birds have been found here, including Virginia Rail and Sora in the marshy areas, and a Green Heron that wintered here for several years. Rufous and Anna’s Hummingbird, Bewick’s Wren and Vaux’s Swift are common in summer, and Golden-crowned, White-Crowned and the occasional White-throated Sparrow can be found in winter. Pileated Woodpecker, Brown Creeper and Cooper’s Hawk are regular year-round.
