Habitat and Birds

This is a nice area to spend some time exploring the many trails that go both through woods and clearcuts.  It has become the best place in the county to find Mountain Quail and Canada Jay.  Other birds in the area include Band-tailed Pigeon, Anna’s and Rufous Hummingbirds, Northern Pygmy-Owl, various woodpeckers; Olive-sided, Willow, and Pacific-slope Flycatchers and Western Wood-pewee; Common Raven; Varied and Swainson’s Thrushes; Evening Grosbeak; MacGillivray’s Warbler; Western Tanager; and Black-headed Grosbeak.
