HWY 126 CASCADES County

This is higher elevation forest and meadow habitat with similar bird species to Scott Lake.  The meadows could have Willow and/or Dusky Flycatchers, Lincoln’s Sparrows, MacGillivray’s Warblers, etc.

This is a large reservoir with forest around it.  The reservoir can have water birds (loons, grebes, waterfowl, etc) on it during the non-breeding season.  The forests will have typical conifer forest species.

This is a trail through an “old growth” Douglas-fir forest.  So, expected year-around species would include Northern Pygmy-Owl, Red-breasted Sapsucker, Pileated Woodpecker, Hutton’s Vireo, Steller’s Jay, Chestnut-backed Ch...

This is a 2.8 mile round-trip trail to the top of Horsepasture Mtn (5660′) with good views from the top and wildflowers in the meadows during the spring.  Birds are typical conifer forest species.

This location has lakes, meadows, and forests for lots of high Cascade birds and by fall most of the bugs are gone. Mountain species might include Sooty Grouse, Northern Goshawk, Northern Pygmy-owl, Common Nighthawk, Cassin’s Vireo, Steller&...

This is a trail through forest and/or recently burnt forest.  So, there would be two completely different habitats.
